Manoj Panda

Manoj Panda, former director at the Institute of Economic Growth, has been appointed as a full-time member of the 16th Finance Commission.

The appointment was announced by the finance ministry through a notification.
Panda's tenure will last until the submission of the Commission's report or October 31, 2025, whichever is earlier.
He replaces Niranjan Rajadhyaksha, who resigned due to unforeseen personal circumstances.
Panda's expertise lies in monitoring macroeconomic trends, analyzing fiscal policies, and evaluating trade options for growth and distribution.
Previously, he held positions at the Centre for Economic and Social Studies (CESS) in Hyderabad and the Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research (IGIDR) in Mumbai.
Panda also worked as an economist at the National Council of Applied Economic Research in New Delhi.
Other full-time members include Ajay Narayan Jha and Annie George Mathew, while Soumya Kanti Ghosh serves as a part-time member.
