National Time Protocol (NTP)

On 15th March, Union Minister inaugurated NTP for precise time dissemination in Mumbai, enhancing cyber security.

NTP ensures uniform and accurate time information with milliseconds accuracy, enhancing cyber security.
Public can access NTP through time.nplindia.org or time.nplindia.in.
Timing infrastructure also inaugurated virtually at Regional Reference Standard Laboratories (RRSL) in Faridabad and Ahmedabad.
Plans to install atomic clocks in RRSLs at Bengaluru, Bhubaneswar, Guwahati, and Delhi by year-end.
Time synchronization will no longer rely on GPS; instead, Navigation with Indian Constellation (NavIC) will be utilized.
Mobile operators nationwide mandated to sync time using NavIC, ensuring uniform time standards across the country.
