Made-in-India ASTDS Tug

On 2nd March, Union Ports, Shipping and Waterways Minister inaugurated the first-ever Made-in-India Approved Standardised Tug Design and Specification (ASTDS) tug, 'Ocean Grace,' and a Medical Mobile Unit (MMU) at Paradip Port.
- The tug, built by Cochin Shipyard Limited under MoPSW, symbolizes Atmanirbhar Bharat, while the MMU reflects the port's CSR commitment.
- India’s Green Tug Transition Programme aims for 50% of tugs to be green by 2030, enhancing sustainability in maritime operations.
- Paradip Port's expansion, including the Western Dock project, aims to boost capacity and efficiency, emphasizing its vital role in coastal shipping.
- The port's CSR activities include healthcare, education, environment, and skill development, with ongoing projects to uplift coastal communities.
