Answer :

Many of the aspirants do ask -how to avoid distractions while preparing for the UPSC Civil Services Exam to themselves? All aspirants will have some sort of distractions while preparing. Even though they do know what is their major problem for distraction they cannot get away from that.

Familiar problems aspirants face are- Family problems, Relationships, Chats, Mobile Games, Facebook. These are the popular reasons for distractions. Here we are trying to give you some sort of solutions:

Family Problems

  • All aspirants would have this problem and the problem will be unique for each and every one. So it is up to you to solve these problems. But, be sure these problems are everlasting and you won’t have a springtime. There won’t be an ideal time where there are no family problems. So,if possible come out of your home and be with some fellow aspirants so that your mind will be tuned to prepare for this exam 24/7.

Relationship/Friends

  • Explain to your lover/ladylove about your difficulty in preparations and limit time with them by framing a time period. Ask them how they would feel if you clear this toughest exam. So that they are ready to make a temporary sacrifice.

Lack of Perseverance and Focus Hinders Progress

  • Yes, the journey is long and arduous. But that’s where the thrill is. What’s the fun in winning a hurdle race sans hurdles? If it was so easy, everyone would do it, right? This exam demands a lot of things, courage and perseverance being the most important of all, courage to take the decision to sit for this exam and perseverance to leave everything aside and direct all your energy towards achieving your aim.
  • Build your inner strength. Try finding time for your hobbies. Do yoga, it works wonders. Find ways of making this preparation fun. Follow a strategy keeping in mind your strengths and weaknesses. You don’t need to watch videos or read about people who have cracked this exam in their single attempt or who are habitual crackers (those genius types you know), rather read about people who have struggled a lot before eventually cracking this exam as there is a lot to learn from them, from their mistakes. They make for better guides. E.g. Ira Singhal, Chandan Prakash Pandey, SuharshaBhagat. These guys should be your inspiration. Wise is the one who learns from the mistakes of others.
