SpaDeX Mission: ISRO Successfully Undocks Satellites in Space

On 13th March 2025, the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) successfully undocked the SDX01 and SDX02 satellites, marking a major milestone in India's space capabilities.

  • On January 16 2025, India’s SpaDeX mission had successfully achieved autonomous in-space docking between the two satellites, launched by PSLV-C60 on December 30, 2024.
  • The satellites SDX01 (Chaser) and SDX02 (Target) are now orbiting independently, proving India's capability in rendezvous, docking, and undocking operations.
  • This achievement makes India the fourth country, after the U.S., Russia, and China, to develop this advanced space technology.
