Basic Structure of the Constitution
- In September 2020, Kesavananda Bharati of landmark Kesavananda Bharati Sripadagalvaru and Others v/s State of Kerala (1973) case passed away.
- The case dealt with a petition against the Kerala Government challenging the compulsory acquisition of his land by the Government under the Kerala Land Reforms Act 1963, as a violation of Fundamental Rights (FRs), as enshrined in - Articles 25, 26 and 31 of the Constitution of India. The Case was heard by 13 Judges constitutional bench.
