Genome India Project: Unlocking India's Genetic Diversity

  • Recently, the Department of Biotechnology (DBT) has announced that it has completed sequencing of 10,000 Indian genomes under the 'Genome India Project'.
  • Its Phase 1 is funded by the Department of Biotechnology (DBT) to sequence at least 10,000 Indian genomes.
  • The ambitious 'Genome India Project' (GEP) was launched by DBT on 3 January 2020.
