  • Hepatitis C is a viral infection that affects liver. This can cause both short-term and long-term illness.
  • Hepatitis C is spread through contact with infected blood. It can be transmitted by sharing infected needles or syringes, or through unsafe medical procedures such as blood transfusions with untested blood products.
