Cool Roof Policy
- Recently, Telangana government announced “Cool Roof Policy”.
- It aims to make buildings thermally comfortable and heat resilient and reducing the energy consumption.
- It is made mandatory for all government, non-residential and commercial buildings irrespective of the size of the area they are built in.
- It is voluntary or optional for buildings with a plot area of less than 600 square yards.
- The cool roof can reduce the indoor temperatures by 2° to 4° C compared to traditional roofs.
- The cool roof can also lower the costs since it needs limited maintenance and can save 20% in energy ....
