Usage of Green Technologies in Sustainable Water Management
- Water availability reduced from 1816 cubic meters per capita in 2001 to 1544 cubic meters in 2011, and it is projected to further decrease to 1140 cubic meters by 2050.
- Any situation where the per capita availability of water is less than 1000 cubic meters is considered as Scarcity Threshold.
- It is estimated that the country's Projected Water Demand will be twice the available supply, resulting in severe water scarcity and will affect millions of people.
- As per NITI Aayog, The water scarcity situation is expected to lead to about a 6% loss in the country's GDP.
