India’s First Long-Range Hypersonic Missile
On 17th November 2024, India’s Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) successfully flight-tested its long-range hypersonic missile off the coast of Odisha, marking a major milestone in India’s defence capabilities.

- DRDO successfully tested a long-range hypersonic missile from Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Island, off the coast of Odisha.
- The missile has a range of over 1,500 km and can carry various payloads, enhancing India’s defence capabilities.
- The missile was developed by DRDO’s Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Missile Complex in Hyderabad, with the involvement of several DRDO laboratories and industrial partners.
