​Global Alliance against Hunger and Poverty

On 18th November 2024, the Global Alliance against Hunger and Poverty was officially launched at the G20 Leaders' Summit in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, aiming to accelerate efforts to eradicate hunger and poverty and promote the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Membership and Structure

  • Comprises 88 countries and 67 organizations as members.
  • Open to non-G20 nations since July 2024, with Brazil and Bangladesh being the first non-G20 members.

Goals and Key Pillars

  • Eliminate all nations from the FAO's hunger map by 2030.
  • Operates on Three Pillars: National (policy coordination), Knowledge (data integration), and Financial Support (resource mobilization).
