On 10th November, 2023, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting approved a path breaking "Digital Advertisement Policy, 2023.
Salient Features
Empowering Central Bureau of Communications (CBC)
- It enables and empowers the Central Bureau of Communications (the advertising arm of the Union Government) to conduct campaigns in the digital media platform.
- This policy authorizes the CBC to adopt new and innovative communication platforms in the digital platform with the approval of a duly constituted committee.
Shift to Digital Media
- The policy recognizes the changing landscape of media consumption, with a substantial movement towards digital platforms.
