ODOP merged with ‘District as Export Hub’ Initiative
Recently, One District One Product (ODOP) initiative operationally merged with ‘Districts as Export Hub (DEH)’ initiative of DGFT, Department of Commerce, with the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) as a major stakeholder.
About One District One Product (ODOP)
- It is an initiative which is seen as a transformational step towards realizing the true potential of a district, fuel economic growth; generate employment and rural entrepreneurship, taking us to the goal of AtmaNirbhar Bharat.
- It aims to turn every district in India, into an export hub through promotion of the product in which the district specialises.
