Harappa

  • It was the first site to be discovered. It is located on the bank of the river Ravi in Western Punjab.
  • In terms of its size and the variety of objects discovered, it ranks as the premier city of the Harappan Civilization.
  • The ruins of the city cover a circuit of about 3 miles.
  • In Harappa a substantial section of the population was engaged in activities other than food production.

Mohenjo-Daro
