Tughlaq Dynasty (1320-1414)
The founder of the Tughlaq dynasty was Ghiyasuddin Tughlaq. Jauna Khan was said to have treacherously killed his father and ascended the throne with the title Muhammad bin Tughlaq in 1325.
1.Muhammad bin Tughlaq (1325-51)
- He is known for his ambitious schemes and novel experiments such as transfer of capital from Delhi to Devagiri (renamed Daulatabad) for better administration of southern territories, issuing copper coins as token currency instead of silver currency, enormously increasing military expenditure to counter Mongols and failed Qarachill expedition (Kumaon Hills) which led to economic ruin.
