Hyderabad no Longer Joint Capital of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana
- Hyderabad ceased to be the common capital of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh from 2nd June, 2024, as per the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, 2014.
- The Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, promulgated in 2014, specified that Hyderabad will remain the joint capital of both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana for 10 years. After that, Andhra Pradesh can announce its new capital.
- In June 2024, the new Chief Minister announced that Amaravati will be the new capital. ....
