​NTCA Warns Against Morand-Ganjal Irrigation Project

Recently, the National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA) warned that the Morand-Ganjal Irrigation Project in Madhya Pradesh will submerge vital tiger habitats, disrupting the ecological connectivity between Satpura and Melghat Tiger Reserves.

Morand-Ganjal Irrigation Project

  • A dam-based irrigation project intended to enhance agricultural productivity in Madhya Pradesh.
  • The Morand and Ganjal Rivers, where dams will be constructed.
