  • Nobel Prize in Economics: Professor Claudia Goldin of Harvard University has been awarded the Nobel Prize in Economics, 2023 for her research that improves the understanding of gender discrimination in the labor market.
    • Goldin is the third woman to be honored with this award. Earlier in the year 2009, this award was given to Elinor Ostrom and Oliver E. Williamson.
    • In the year 2019, this award was given to Esther Duflo and her colleagues Abhijit Banerjee and Michael Kremer.
