PM-KUSUM Scheme Extended by Three Years
On 2nd February, 2023, the government extended Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan (PM-KUSUM) scheme till March 2026 as its implementation was significantly affected due to the pandemic.
About PM-KUSUM Scheme
- It was launched in 2019 with the objective of providing energy and water security to farmers, enhance their income, de-dieselise the farm sector and reduce environmental pollution.
- It is being implemented by the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy (MNRE).
- State Nodal Agencies (SNAs) of MNRE coordinate with States/UTs, Discoms and farmers for implementation of the scheme.
