  • To provide individuals with rare diseases with affordable health care.
  • To place a greater emphasis on indigenous research and medicine manufacture in India.

Categorization of Rare Diseases in 3 Groups

  • Group 1: Disorders amenable to one-time curative treatment.
  • Group 2: Those requiring long term or lifelong treatment.
