Inspiration4 Mission: Heralding a New Era in Space Tourism
On 18th September, 2021, the all-civilian crew of the Inspiration4 Mission returned to Earth after orbiting it for three days.
Inspiration4 Mission
- Launch: The world’s first all-civilian mission to orbit, it was launched by space firm SpaceX on 15th September, 2021, from NASA's Kennedy Space Center with crew aboard a Crew Dragon capsule and SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket for an Earth-orbiting mission.
- Objective: The mission involved circling the Earth for three days, and then splashing down into the Atlantic Ocean.
- The crew underwent basic training as none of them was a trained professional astronaut.
- Altitude: It orbited the Earth in low-Earth orbit (LEO) ....
