Study of Turtles Recent study of the turtles in North Great Barrier Reef (GBR) and South GBR by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA),US, showed that female population has greatly increased as compared to male in the recent dec-ades.

Female-skewed Sex Ratio This alarming female-skewed sex ratio has been observed among adults, subadults as well as juvenile population. The results of the study in turtles from the northern GBR, which is warmer than the southern GBR is as 86.8% female among adults, 99.8% female among subadults and 99.1% female among juveniles.
