Tianwen-1 Mission
In July, China is planning to launch its Mars mission- ‘Tianwen-1’- which is expected to land on the Martian surface in the first quarter of 2021.
The Tianwen-1 Mission
- The mission has been named after Tianwen- the ancient Chinese poem which means ‘Questions to Heaven’.
- July will be the ideal time for the mission as Earth and Mars will be in good positions relative to each other. This will help reach Mars using less fuel.
- It will be launched from the Wenchang launch centre on a Long March 5 rocket, developed by China.
