- International Day of Happiness is observed on 20th March.
- The United Nations started celebrating this day in 2013, but the resolution for the same was passed on July 12, 2012. The resolution was initiated by Bhutan which shed the light on the importance of National Happiness.
- The theme for Happiness Day 2022 is “Keep Calm, Stay Wise and Be Kind”.
- The General Assembly of the United Nations adopted a resolution on 12 July 2012 and proclaimed 20 March the International Day of Happiness.
- The resolution was initiated by Bhutan, a country which recognized the value of national happiness over national income since the early 1970s and famously adopted the goal of Gross National Happiness over Gross National Product.
