Operation Brahma

On 29th March 2025, India launched Operation Brahma to provide urgent humanitarian assistance to Myanmar following a devastating earthquake, delivering 15 tonnes of relief materials via an Indian Air Force C-130J aircraft to Yangon.

  • The relief consignment includes tents, blankets, sleeping bags, food packets, hygiene kits, generators, and essential medicines to assist those affected by the earthquake.
  • Crucial medical supplies such as paracetamol, antibiotics, syringes, gloves, and bandages have been dispatched to aid medical relief efforts in disaster-stricken areas.
  • A search and rescue team, along with a medical team, has also accompanied the flight to provide immediate on-ground support to those in need.
  • External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar confirmed that the Indian government will continue to assess the situation and send additional aid as required.
  • The Indian Embassy in Myanmar is closely coordinating with Myanmar authorities to ensure that relief materials reach affected communities efficiently and without delay.
  • The embassy has reassured the Indian community in Myanmar of its support and remains in constant communication to assist Indian nationals in distress.
