Mountaineer Major HPS Ahluwalia Passes Away

Major Hari Pal Singh Ahluwalia, an Indian mountaineer, author, social worker and retired Indian Army officer has passed away on 14 January 2022.
During his career he made contributions in the fields of adventure, sports, environment, disability and social work.
He is one of six Indian men and the twenty-first man in the world to climb Mount Everest.
He has written over 13 books including his autobiography ‘Higher Than Everest’.
He was honoured with the country's most prestigious awards - Padma Bhushan, Padma Shri and the Arjuna Award. He also received the Tenzing Norgay National Adventure Award.
