On 27th February 2025, centre unveiled a series of transformative initiatives in Mumbai aimed at modernizing India’s maritime infrastructure and enhancing its global trade competitiveness.

  • One Nation-One Port Process (ONOP): A standardized framework for all major ports to streamline operations, reduce costs, and improve efficiency.
  • Sagar Ankalan – Logistics Port Performance Index (LPPI): A ranking system to evaluate ports on key performance indicators like cargo handling, turnaround time, and berth utilization.
  • Bharat Global Ports Consortium: A collaborative effort to expand India’s maritime trade network, boost exports, and strengthen global supply chains.
  • MAITRI App for Virtual Trade Corridor (VTC): A digital platform leveraging AI and blockchain to accelerate trade processes, beginning with India-UAE and expanding to BIMSTEC and ASEAN nations.
