NAKSHA Pilot Program Launched

On 18th February 2025, the National Geospatial Knowledge-based Land Survey of Urban Habitations (NAKSHA) pilot program was launched in Raisen, Madhya Pradesh.

- Objective: Aims to modernize urban land survey processes, improving land record accuracy and reducing disputes.
- Technology Integration: Uses IT-based systems, drone demonstrations, and aerial surveys for efficient property record administration.
- Stakeholders: Survey of India for technical support, M.P. State Electronics Development Corporation Ltd. (MPSeDC) for platform development, and National Informatics Centre Services Incorporated (NICSI) for data storage.
- Program Budget: The pilot program has a cost of Rs. 194 crore, fully funded by the central government.
- Ground Truthing: State and UT governments will conduct field surveys and ground trothing based on orthorectified imagery.
