On 26th January 2025, the central government announced 139 Padma Awards for 2025, celebrating exceptional contributions across various fields, with Prime Minister lauding the recipients' dedication and achievements.

  • The Padma Awards 2025 include 7 Padma Vibhushan, 19 Padma Bhushan, and 113 Padma Shri honors, approved by President Droupadi Murmu.
  • This year’s awards feature 23 women recipients, 10 from the Foreigners/NRI/PIO/OCI category, and 13 posthumous honors, including one duo case.
  • Notable awardees include former Suzuki Motors chief Osamu Suzuki, ex-Maharashtra CM Manohar Joshi, and ex-CJI Jagdish Singh Khehar.
  • Cultural and sports honorees include singers Arijit Singh and Sharda Sinha, cricketer R Ashwin, and ex-hockey player PR Sreejesh.
  • Distinguished contributors like Ram temple architect Chandrakant Sompura, Paralympian Harvinder Singh, and humanitarian homeopath Vilas Dangre also received recognition.
  • Unique recipients include Goa’s 100-year-old freedom fighter Libia Lobo Sardesai, travel bloggers Hugh and Colleen Gantzer, and Dhak player Gokul Chandra Dey, who empowered women in a male-dominated art form.
