The Seventh Session of the International Solar Alliance (ISA) Assembly is set to take place in New Delhi from 3-6 November 2024, with leaders from 120 countries expected to attend, highlighting the global commitment to solar energy.

  • Pralhad Joshi, the Minister of New and Renewable Energy and President of the ISA Assembly, emphasized that the ISA has evolved into a crucial platform for global solar cooperation, now representing 120 member countries and signatories.
  • The assembly will focus on addressing challenges in global solar deployment, including investments, infrastructure, and local manufacturing, while promoting collaborations with governments, private sectors, and international organizations to enhance solar energy demand.
  • Director General of ISA, stated that the organization plays a vital role in achieving Sustainable Development Goals related to affordable and clean energy, while also advocating for increased investment in solar energy projects.
  • Notable initiatives, such as the SolarX Startup Challenge and the STAR-C initiative, aim to foster entrepreneurship, build capacity, and enhance quality standards for solar energy technologies, thereby driving economic growth and job creation.
  • The assembly will culminate in a visit to an agrivoltaic farm site on November 6, showcasing practical implementations of solar energy solutions, and will be followed by a high-level conference focused on clean energy transition technologies.
