Global Digital Framework

On 15th October 2024, Prime Minister urged the global community to create a standardized digital framework with ethical guidelines during the inauguration of the World Telecommunication Standardisation Assembly (WTSA) and India Mobile Congress.

Prime Minister emphasized the need for a comprehensive set of global rules and regulations for digital technology, similar to the aviation sector's international framework.
PM highlighted the importance of ethical AI use, stressing that security, dignity, and equity should guide its deployment.
India’s rapid 5G rollout was underscored, with PM revealing that 5G services now cover most of the country, and efforts on 6G have already started.
India has transitioned from being an importer to an exporter of mobile phones over the past decade, while laying an extensive optic fibre network, spanning eight times the distance between Earth and the Moon.
The Prime Minister outlined India's digital vision, based on making devices affordable, ensuring widespread connectivity, offering low-cost data, and prioritizing digital-first initiatives.
