President Advocates for Evolving Audit Practices

On 24th Sept 2024, President Droupadi Murmu emphasized the need for audits to adapt to technological advancements during the inauguration of the 16th Assembly of the Asian Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (ASOSAI) in New Delhi.

The President highlighted that the role of public sector audits has expanded to encompass the assessment of public welfare schemes and projects, ensuring they effectively serve all citizens.
President Murmu stated that Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) serves as a foundational element for enhancing the functioning of the digital economy and the services offered to citizens.
The President underscored the crucial role of Supreme Audit Institutions in ensuring that digital public infrastructure is designed to be inclusive and accessible for all members of society.
President Murmu reaffirmed the significance of the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India in maintaining transparency and accountability in the nation’s public finances.
