SEMI India 2024 to Boost Semiconductor Industry

SEMI, in partnership with the India Semiconductor Mission and other key organizations, will host SEMICON India 2024 from September 11-13, 2024, in Greater Noida (Uttar Pradesh), marking a significant step for the semiconductor sector.
- SEMICON India 2024, set for September 11-13 at the India Exposition Mart Ltd. in Greater Noida, will feature an opening ceremony with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and keynote addresses from major industry players such as SEMI, NXP, Foxconn, and Tata Electronics.
- The event will showcase strategies from state government representatives of Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Assam, Karnataka, Odisha, and Tamil Nadu, aimed at boosting investments and growth in the semiconductor sector.
- SEMI President and CEO, highlighted India's emerging role in global semiconductor manufacturing, projecting the Indian market to exceed $100 billion and create over 600,000 jobs by 2030.
- Recent developments include the government's approval for Kaynes Semicon Pvt. Ltd. to establish a semiconductor facility in Sanand, Gujarat, with an investment of Rs. 3,300 crores, capable of producing 60 lakh chips daily.
