B Srinivasan Appointed NSG Director General

On 27th August 2024, Senior IPS officer B Srinivasan has been appointed as the Director General of the National Security Guard (NSG).

B Srinivasan, a 1992 batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer from the Bihar cadre, will lead the NSG as its new Director General.
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has officially approved his appointment, effective from the date of joining until August 31, 2027, coinciding with his retirement.
Srinivasan’s appointment was confirmed by a Personnel Ministry order issued on August 27, 2024.
His new role positions him at the helm of India's premier counter-terrorism and hostage rescue unit.
The NSG, known for its specialized skills in counter-terrorism, will benefit from Srinivasan's extensive experience in the police service.
