On 23rd August 2024, India marks its first National Space Day (NSpD-2024), celebrating the successful landing of the Vikram Lander from the Chandrayaan-3 mission on the Moon on 23rd August.
- This milestone placed India as the fourth country globally to land a rover on the Moon and the first to achieve a landing in the southern polar region.
- The Vikram Lander, accompanied by the Pragyaan Rover, touched down at a site named ‘Shiv Shakti,’ further advancing India's lunar exploration efforts.
