On 22nd August 2024, Neeraj Chopra clinched second place at the Lausanne Diamond League with a season-best throw of 89.49 meters in his final attempt on August 22, 2024.

Anderson Peters of Grenada won the event with a throw of 90.61 meters, while Julian Weber of Germany finished third with 87.08 meters.
