Lok Sabha Speaker Set Up Business Advisory Committee

On July 18th, 2024, Lok Sabha Speaker set up a new Business Advisory Committee for a new Lok Sabha Session which will began on 22nd July 2024.

  • Committee Members: Sudip Bandyopadhyay (TMC), P P Chaudhary (BJP), Lavu Sri Krishna Devarayalu (TDP), Nishikant Dubey (BJP), Gaurav Gogoi (Congress), Sanjay Jaiswal (BJP), Dileshwar Kamait (JD-U), Bhartruhari Mahtab (BJP), Dayanidhi Maran (DMK), Baijayant Panda (BJP), Arvind Sawant (Shiv Sena-UBT), Kodikunnil Suresh (Congress), Anurag Thakur (BJP) and Lalji Verma (SP) as members.

Business Advisory Committee

  • The Business Advisory Committee was constituted for the first time on the 14th July, 1952.
  • The committee’s main role is to set the parliamentary agenda.
  • Casual vacancies are filled by nomination of new members for the unexpired term of the Committee.
  • The Committee generally meets at the beginning of each Session and thereafter as and when necessary.
