On 30th May 2024, the Indian Air Force and Indian Navy participated in two major multinational military exercises hosted by their American counterparts.

  • The Indian Air Force has deployed Rafale fighter jets for the two-week multinational air exercise Red Flag in Alaska.
  • The Indian Navy is sending the indigenous stealth frigate INS Shivalik for the biennial Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) exercise, scheduled from June 25 to August 2 in Hawaii.
  • Red Flag-Alaska provides realistic training in a simulated combat environment, integrating aircrew from various nations and enhancing interoperability.
  • RIMPAC 2024 is the 29th edition of the world's largest international maritime exercise, involving 29 nations, 40 surface ships, three submarines, and over 25,000 personnel.
  • The participation aims to enhance the Indian forces' interoperability with partner nations and improve their ability to deter and defeat aggression across all domains.
