Maasika Mahotsav, a week-long festival dedicated to destigmatizing periods through sports, arts, and cultural programs, will be celebrated from 21st May in 11 countries.

  • This 8th edition will see participation from 33 organizations, hosting events across 15 Indian states and extending globally.
  • The festival seeks to challenge menstrual taboos, eradicate period poverty, and promote global conversations about menstruation.
  • Organized by the Thane-based NGO Muse Foundation, Maasika Mahotsav will debut in Puducherry, Himachal Pradesh, and Punjab this year.
  • The festival will also be celebrated for the second time in Pakistan.
  • The initiative aims to involve a diverse array of activities and engagements to foster awareness and education about menstrual health.
