Pirul Lao-Paise Pao Mission

On 8th May 2024, Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami initiated Pirul Lao-Paise Pao Mission in Rudraprayag district to combat forest fires.

Campaign involves collecting Pirul (Pine Tree leaves) from forests by local villagers and youth.
Pirul will be weighed and villagers compensated at Rs 50 per kg, transferred directly to their bank accounts.
Tehsildars to open Pirul collection centres supervised by Sub-Divisional Magistrates.
Collected Pirul to be stored, processed, and provided to industries under district administration's supervision.
Efforts to maximize Pirul collection will be led by district Magistrates and Divisional Forest Officers.
Pollution Control Board to manage the mission with a separate fund of Rs 50 crores, ensuring compensation for villagers.
