On 4th May 2024, Bollywood star Kareena Kapoor Khan joined the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) India as National Ambassador, advocating for children's rights in early childhood development, health, education, and gender equality.

Kareena, associated with UNICEF India since 2014, will focus on early childhood development, health, education, and gender equality.
She previously served as a Celebrity Advocate for UNICEF India, expressing her commitment to children's welfare.
Kareena emphasized the importance of children's rights, pledging to use her voice and influence for vulnerable children.
UNICEF India also introduces its first-ever Youth Advocates, addressing issues like climate action, mental health, and STEM education.
The Youth Advocates include Gauranshi Sharma, Kartik Verma, Nahid Afrin, and Vinisha Umashankar, driving change for children and young people.
