India and Mauritania Hold First Foreign Office Consultations

On 21st March, India and Mauritania held their first Foreign Office Consultations (FOC) in Nouakchott.

Co-chaired by officials from both countries, the meeting covered bilateral, regional, and global issues.
Discussions included political cooperation, economic partnership, development assistance, and cultural exchanges.
Both sides agreed to hold the next round of FOC meeting in New Delhi.
Bilateral trade between India and Mauritania has grown steadily, reaching $378.24 million during 2022-23.
India extended a Line of Credit (LOC) worth $21.8 million to Mauritania for agro-industries and drinking water projects.
The release highlights the variety of goods traded between the two countries, emphasizing their long-standing ties of friendship and collaboration.
