Pradhan Mantri PVTG Development Mission

On 1^st February, 2023, Finance Minister announced the launch of a new scheme called the Pradhan Mantri PVTG (Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups) Development Mission as part of the Union Budget 2023-24.

• This mission aims to provide basic necessities such as housing, water, roads, telecom, education, and health in areas inhabited by PVTGs, who are the most vulnerable and backward tribes among the Scheduled Tribes.

About the Mission: The government has allocated Rs 15,000 crore for the programme, which will be implemented over the next three years.
