India, Maldives sign six Agreements

Recently, India and Maldives vowed to strengthen their defence and security ties with a major focus on maritime security.

• This was concluded during the Maldives President Ibrahim Solih’s visit to India.

About Six Agreements

1. Line of Credit by India: India announced $100 mn new Line of Credit to finance infrastructure projects in Maldives.
2. Security Ties: As Maldives signed a cyber-security agreement with India and affirmed their will to strengthen ties to take on “transnational crimes and terrorism” in the Indian Ocean region.
3. Maritime Security: India-Maldives cooperation is necessary to maintain peace and stability in IOR as there is high chances of terrorism, ....
