The Multi-sectoral Development Programme which was launched in 2008-09 was restructured and renamed as Pradhan Mantri Jan Vikas Karyakram in 2018.
Aim: It aims to develop socio-economic infrastructure and basic amenities in minority areas. It will address the development deficits of the identified Minority Concentration Areas.
Implementation: It is a centrally sponsored scheme under the Ministry of Minority Affairs implemented in the Minority Concentration Areas of the country. The implementing agencies may be the State PSUs/State Govt. construction agencies, DRDA and CPSEs.
