Panchayat Empowerment and Accountability Incentive Scheme (PEAIS)

It is a central sector scheme (100% funded) launched by Ministry of Panchayati Raj.

It aims at incentivizing –

1. States for devolving funds, functions and functionaries (3Fs) to panchayats
2. Panchayats to put in place accountability systems to make their functioning transparent and efficient.
