NSIL got incorporate on March 06, 2019, as a wholly owned Government of India Undertaking/ Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE), under the administrative control of Department of Space (DOS).
NSIL has been categorized as Schedule ‘A’ CPSE by Department of Public Enterprises (DPE) on February 06, 2020.
NSIL has the following roles and functions:
Small satellite technology transfer to industry.
Manufacture of Small Satellite Launch Vehicle (SSLV) in collaboration with private sector.
Production of Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) through Indian industry.
Production and marketing of space based products and services, including launch and application.
Transfer of technology developed by ISRO centres and constituent units ....
