The Nagar Van Scheme was launched by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change on 5th June 2020 On the occasion of World Environment Day.
The Scheme will develop 200 Urban Forests across the country in five years (2020-25) with a renewed focus on people’s participation and collaboration between Forest Department, Municipal bodies, NGOs, Corporates and local citizens.
The primary aims are to create a forested area in the city and provide a healthy and wholesome living environment to the residents of the city.
