Logistics Performance Index

This index is released bi-annually by World Bank.

The parameters of the Index include:

• Quality of trade and transport infrastructure
• Competence and quality of logistics services
• Efficiency of customs and border management clearance
• Ease of arranging competitively priced shipments
• Ability to track and trace consignments
• Timelines of shipments in reaching destination within the scheduled or expected delivery time.

Findings

• India ranked 44^th among 160 countries in 2018 slipping from its 35^th rank attained the previous year. All six parameters have dropped for India.
